Business in the front... @ the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium

I went on a "hard-hat tour" of the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington this morning alongside the media crew/reporters who are staying in Irving for the Cotton Bowl. This one guy... I could not get over his "do."
Seriously, who has a mullet these days?! Anyone?!
The tour consisted of standing outside one of the plywood entrances (straining to listen to a man who had no idea about voice modulation while in cold winds in Texas), passing through said plywood door, and standing about 100 feet inside door on the Concourse level. There was no "tour." There was a photo opp - and that's it. Which is fine, I guess. I'm sure it will mean more to me later on in life; like when I can tell my kids I was there while it was being built...
There are pictures attached of the hole in the roof (it's the same size as the hole in the original Texas Stadium), the uber-large jumbo-tron (it's the largest center hung video screen in the world - they might submit something to Guinness), the big-tall cranes they have working inside, two sections of air ducts being hoisted by the cranes, guys installing seating (can you tell how many boxes they have yet to unpack?), my friend Keith, the Sports Marketing guy at my office (he's posing like a picture of Jerry Jones he's seen), more pictures of the hole in the roof, and a few exterior shots. I've also included a picture I found online from last October (think they'll make their June 1, 2009 opening date?!). All in all, a pretty good photo opp. Particularly with Mr. Mullet present. : )

The view from the top

And now today, at a sunny 70*, I can see downtown Dallas again from my Las Colinas office tower. Yippee.

Foredge wash (in a shade of blue)

Oh, to be able to mix matching paints all night long! What sweet bliss!
I love fabric. I live paints. I love flowers. I love this light blue color. I kinda want to eat this light blue color (the color, not the acrylic paint).
Someday soon I'll have a studio room again where I can mix paint until my heart's content... which it will never be. Until then, I'll make my time at the Craft Guild really count. Tonight was just what I needed right now.
Have I mentioned I'm applying for grad school? I'm scared.

I'm living in a cloud.

Seriously, this whole week has felt a but like a fairy-tale because of all the strange weather and fog! Every day this week has brought new types of fog with it. Monday was early fog. Tuesday wasn't foggy ealry but was below freezing all day and then the FREEZING fog rolled in. Wednesday was foggy most of the day and got worse after dark, which is about 5:30 these days. Today has gotten foggier and foggier!
No, this isn't a double exposure pic, it's from the window in my office! Normally I can see all the way to downtown Dallas from my windows. Today I can't see the top half of the neighboring building anymore (the one behind my phone cover in the picture) and shortly I don't think I'll be able to even see the first floor! This morning the only part I couldn't see was the mansured roof!
Hopefully everyone will live happily ever after when all this fog rolls outta here!

Who knew that DMC 25 Colorfast Thread would get me to the top of the list?!

I was "managing" my posts a second ago and noticed that Posterous has tallyed 829 views of my post about DMC 25 Colorfast Thread. That's a lot to me.
Naturally, I googled that phrase and surprisingly, my wordpress blog (which I use to combine my posts and my family posts) was the first thing on the list of search results.
dude.
cool.
Apparently, when my MIL was searching for something from our Christmas list the other day (posted on my family blog, not this one), our Christmas List post came up in her search for an item John wants.
When I tried to get the same results - nada. I didn't see anything I'd posted on the first 10 pages of Google results. It's a weird, weird world.

Rudolph! Rudolph! Rudolph, the red-nosed troll doll!

In light of my last post, I went looking for pics of Trolls.
I found this guy.
I haven't thought about him in years, but I remember that when I was a kid, I really wanted him; not the one withe red hair - this one. I don't know if I ever told anyone how much I wanted him, but I'm thinking I didn't because it wasn't like trolls were very expensive and I'm sure that if I'd mentioned it enough, I'd have gotten him for Christmas or something...

I also found this picture when Googling: troll... hmmm...

There are things on OnceUponAWin.com like:
The snap/slap bracelets! MAN - did we ever try to hurt each other with those! Finally, the principal said we couldn't bring them to school anymore. damn.
Remember how you could buy them everywhere?!

Did anybody else want a Doozer for a pet or something?
I wanted one to come live in my dollhouse and build things with me and my dad like additions to the dollhouse and lego houses and lego cars and trucks and bunkbeds for the trolls and Playmobils!
I really wanted to have a little Doozer...

Way to go Bradford!

I've been impressed with him for a few years now. Plus, he's cute. :)
Good for him!
