things i’ve got on my mind...

green is good.

Toddler tossing!

dude.
Four things about this:
1. you know you liked being tossed up in the air by grown-ups when you were a kid.
2. these are grown men who are learly capable of tossing and (more importantly) catching these kids.
3. the kids WANT to be tossed - just look at them!
4. it's not the same if you imagine them tossing them in a pool instead of a yard. MAN, i loved it when my dad threw me in the pool!!! LOVED IT!!!

Thanks and Gig Em'

Ok, we didn't (any of us!) go to A&M but still it's a quote amongst the crew. Go figure.
And, yes, those are glow-in-the-dark neon bracelets. We heart them. And Emily hearts her birthday and getting to wear an Andy Warhol button/badge all night in honor of her big day. She's the oldest one of the group, I'd just like to point out, yet she still calls Mary "Grandma." I'm still not quite sure how that came about...

2009 Helen Warren DeGolyer Triennial Competition for American Bookbinding

I'm going to enter a design in the DeGolyer Bookbinding Competition.
Charlotte's Web will be the sample binding I'll submit. I found a beautiful copy of it this weekend.
"Well, what can I say about this pig that hasn't already been said? I know a lot of you folks have come out to the farm and you've seen the words, and a lot of you have asked me, 'how could this have happened?'. I don't know, but it has happened... at a time when we really don't see many miraculous things. Maybe we do. Maybe they're all right there around us everyday, we just don't know where to look. There's no denying that our own little Wilbur... he's part of something that's bigger than all of us. And life on that farm's just a whole lot better with him in it. He really is some pig."

paisley book: status update

I'm working on finishing up the embroidery on the back cover. We're still missing a few flowers inside of the one paisley but you get the general idea. More pics to follow.
Goodnight Neverland!

Stoneleigh P in Dallas, TX

We went to the Stoneleigh P last night after Suz and Jay's engagement party. Good fun, but not enough room outside, so we were reduced to the table by the piano in the back. apparently, I'm really good at playing the piano at one in the morning...
